What People Have Been Saying After Bodropia. . .

Thank you so much for all the hard work you and colleagues have put into the fabulous week we have just witnessed. I wanted to bottle up last night’s atmosphere and show the world what the young people think of the unmentionable Brexit!   Having had to really push our son into agreeing to it in the first place I cannot emphasise enough the total change we have seen in him. Actually wanting to join in with activities!!! Despite being totally exhausted, he has gone to Truro today with a bunch of French, Spanish and local kids. I always hoped he would become more sociable with age and this week has certainly paved the way for this to happen.

Our son is super keen to do the return trip to France. When he initially signed up for the exchange hosting (entirely his idea, no input from us at all) he was sure he would not want to do any return trip (we did question as we thought he might see it as a good chance to get a week off school…). The week spent with the group obviously changed his mind completely. Despite many family trips to France over the years he has never shown any interest in learning language even if it was to purchase food (!!). He is now happily spouting small smatterings of French at home very proudly. He has really enjoyed getting to know the foreign students and particularly the French group. Our hosting was successful beyond what I could have hoped for. The two boys shared a room all week and were very comfortable together.  


Hosting an exchange student has been thoroughly enjoyable for us all; our previously disinterested son has metamorphosed into a fully fledged Europhile with considerably broader horizons.
